The Client Portal is a webpage that allows OGTN clients to remain connected with their counselor. Forms required to be signed, meeting links and schedule, and the page for clients to upload documentation like copies of insurance cards and photo ID cards is available on the Client Portal.
Ritten is the vendor providing the electronic health record which is used by OGTN to document appointments and provide a record of the services received by a client. It is the same kind of software used by healthcare providers to document patient services.
OGTN uses Zoom for its telehealth sessions.
Clients should receive email notifications of their scheduled appointments. All scheduled appointments and their links are also listed on the Client Portal under the ‘Agenda’ tab.
Ideally, a client will have access to the internet that can support a video call. In order to become a client of OGTN, a prospective client will need an email address in order to complete required paperwork, receive OGTN documents, receive links and reminders, and be able to upload needed documents like a photo ID and insurance card.
Any Ohioan who is experiencing gambling-related harm. This can include anyone who gambles or the loved one of someone who gambles. All OGTN clients must reside in Ohio. Currently services are limited to adults 18 years and older, but efforts are underway to offer services to adolescents in the future.
Telehealth is a great resource to bring access to services to people who do not have local resources or have barriers preventing them access to local services. However, telehealth is not always the best fit for a client. Staff responsiveness to client emergencies is not as capable as a provider located in the same community as the client. Steps are actively taken for a telehealth provider to offer as much support as possible, but for clients needing direct support or intervention, telehealth may fall short of providing the assistance most needed. As services in telehealth may have some limitations, for some clients, referrals to local services may be made. These referrals may coexist with services continued at OGTN, but in some cases, depending on clinical appropriateness, OGTN may refer to local providers and discharge the client if more intensive services are needed that OGTN cannot provide. Clients who consistently miss scheduled appointments or fail to reschedule in advance will ultimately face discharge and be referred to local services in their area.
During any interruptions of a video call, the OGTN Counselor will place a call by telephone to the client to continue the session. If the client is in crisis or having thoughts of suicide and contact is interrupted, the OGTN Counselor will attempt to contact the client. If the client does not respond, the OGTN Counselor will be calling emergency personnel in the client’s home area to request a wellness check.
